Lace teacher questions
Oct. 10th, 2004 09:22 pmSo, on the first day of lace class, it only took ten minutes before the teacher said "You're self-taught, aren't you?" In that "oh no, one of those" tone of voice.
Today I got "And this is really your first workshop? You're entirely self-taught?"

Date: 2004-11-04 07:43 pm (UTC)The lace class was wonderful fun and greatly needed relaxation, but I've only gotten any more work done on the tiny flower motif we were working on twice since then - I don't want to do it while I'm tired or hungry, since my second try was largely composed of undoing the work from my first, and it seems I'm always busy, tired or hungry. I'll endeavour to keep up with this journal. I know the time to do it is hiding in my schedule somewhere - I've never been so busy that the limiting factor wasn't internal rather than external. More time is not the answer, more dedication is.

Date: 2004-11-12 08:12 am (UTC)I have a book on lace but I've never tried making it. I just like looking at the patterns. Well, I bought it as an aid to writing historically accurate fiction, but it's never come in handy yet so I just look at the pictures.
Go RotU-TTSMI! I am ready to whack away at my lower division requirements again in the spring. I'll never forgive California for rejecting 58 out of my 67 out of state credits, though. Doing these classes over is taking a lot of time. Of course, I might have considered that before dropping out the first time.
