You Say Goodbye and I Say Hello

Goodbye job, hello life.

A week ago I finally called my nominal employers to tell them to tell my de-facto employers that my services will be unavailable starting 1/1/2005.

There's still a week to go till I can announce it. It would have been longer if the nominal employers had had their way - they didn't want to give much notice.

To-do list for 2005:

• Find and buy dream home
  
• Conceive and bear firstborn child
  
• Make huge strides toward college degree

The latter, at least, is quite likely. When I have my transfer credit assessed by the internet university in January, I should instantaneously go from being a 16-credit freshman to a 100-credit senior. Speaking of which, I gotta stop stalling and study for my final tomorrow.

Y'know, I'm thrilled if I can manage to get the oil changed in my car. You have much bigger goals than I do.

I did that oil change thing yesterday :)

Also the dentist, about which I mean to email you, but, you know, not while I'm still stalling on studying for the final, which I have this sinking feeling about (cause I haven't exactly read the textbook through).

I calculated after the exam that I'd probably got it 80% right. Today they posted the grades for the class. It's an A, but I don't think I earned it this time. I hope I don't find myself in a position of needing to worry about object slicing or polymorphic functions anytime soon.
